A.G.M
The annual general meeting for Raynor angling club was held on Friday 19th December 2008 at garlands, who very kindly donated the gunsmith arms suite for the use of the meeting. So firstly the commitee would like to thank garlands for this privelige.
The commitee are pleased to say that everything went smoothly and the night was an overall success. With members attending to renew their membership and have a general disscusion regarding the club and its venues.
The meeting began with a general discussion, and we are pleased to say there were no major greivences from any of the members, and it is nice to know that all the anglers who attended were overall pleased with the club in general.
All through the season those hardcore match anglers drag themselves out of bed on a sunday morning to fish against one another for those all important trophies at the end of the year. No matter the weather we are there, (we love it really). So this brings us to the presentation.
The first trophy being presented was for the aggerate cup which was won, and well deserved by Robin Harper, winning an impresive five matches out of his seven. Well done Robin keep up the good angling.
The next trophy to be presented was the Garlands cup, which was won and again very well deserved by Ray Rumney, who has had a pretty impressive season at garlands winning numerous matches in all conditions to take this trophy. Well done Ray.
Then there was the silverfish trophy which was fished for at willesley lake. Some might say that this was probobly one of the best matches of the season, and once again Robin Harper took this trophy in style with a very immpressive 17lb of roach. Nice work Rob
Last but not least there was the presentation for the fur and feather trophy. This was presented to Ray Rumney who fished for five hours in strong winds and heavy rain to win the match from peg 5 on the island pool. Some might say he is mad, but that match also clinched him the golden peg, so overall not a bad day for Ray. Well done.
I would also like to thank Kev Green for presenting these trophies and for keeping scores on the matches so these people could receive them. Thanks Kev

What would an A.G.M be without a buffett and what a wonderful buffett it was. Which i can safely say was enjoyed by everyone at the meeting. So a huge thankyou to Ann Rumney (Ray's wife) and Jodie Rumney (Richard's wife) for spending all day preparing the food to make sure us anglers didn't go hungry.THANKYOU
Then there was of course this years annual raffle which we can tell you was a huge success. There were some fantastic prizes won by the lucky people who bought raffle tickets, and we would like to take this oppurtunity to thank all those who purchased a raffle ticket and for supporting the club in doing so.
A small raffle was also held at the meeting for those who attended, with again some lovely prizes up for grabs thanks to the great donations from some of the members. Thankyou to Ray Rumney, Keith Bishop, Rob Farnsworth and Graham Walker for their donations on the night.
At the meeting there was of course ellections for certain jobs within the club with everyone who attended the meeting voting for each position. These positions are as follows:
Chairman - Kevin Walls
Secretary/Treasurer - Ray Rumney
Match Secretary - Richard Rumney
This brings us to the end of the meeting and gives the commitee a chance to thank everyone for their support to the club through out the year, and hope that next year we can have another successfull years fishing.
Thank you and tight lines to you all.
